Keeping Air Freight on the Move

At dnata we handle a variety of cargo, ranging from live animals through to luxury cars, ensuring it is safely and securely prepared ready to travel. In this role you'll have the opportunity to showcase your exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence in a fast-paced and rewarding environment. We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented individual to join our dynamic team as a Cargo Agent. You'll be responsible for supporting the seamless flow of air freight operations, from documentation to customer service and coordination with warehouse staff. Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and update accurate records of all consignments in the airline computer systems, ensuring meticulous data entry and tracking.
  • Separate and distribute cargo documents according to specific airline requirements, adhering to strict guidelines and procedures.
  • Serve customers with professionalism and efficiency, including collecting cargo, processing payments, and handling inquiries via telephone.
  • Liaise with warehouse staff and drivers, facilitating seamless coordination and communication across departments.
  • Conduct thorough checks on dangerous goods, ensuring compliance with IATA and AVI (Animal and Veterinary Information) regulations.
  • Maintain a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of cargo operation.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous office experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be given to the right candidates who wish to share in dnata's vision, mission, and values.
  • Ability to work with various airlines' systems and basic computer skills are essential.
  • Fluent written English is essential.
  • Pre-employment checks - successful completion of the referencing (checkable 5-year employment/education history), criminal record check to meet dnata and CAA security regulations, and a satisfactory medical report.

Hours of Work:

  • 42 hours per week.
  • Mandatory day and night shift, with approximate start times ranging from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
  • A 5 days-on / 5 days-off, 4 days-on/ 4 days-off pattern on a rolling 4-week roster.

The job holder must have a flexible approach to working variable shift patterns within our 24-hour operation.
