In this pivotal role, you will partner closely with senior leaders across multiple business areas, providing expert guidance that blends HR excellence with commercial insight. You will lead on strategic people initiatives, champion best practice, and deliver tailored solutions that empower our teams to achieve outstanding results.
You will also provide direct leadership to HR Advisors and HR Administrators, ensuring robust oversight of employee relations casework, driving full compliance with policies and legislation, coaching their development, and delivering consistent, high‑quality HR support across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Partnership & Influence
- Build strong, impactful relationships with managers and senior leaders, challenging and influencing to drive optimal people outcomes.
- Act as a trusted advisor on all HR matters, shaping people strategy to support current and future business needs.
- Support organisational change initiatives, ensuring robust people strategies, clear communication, and effective stakeholder engagement.
Employment Law & Employee Relations
- Provide expert coaching and guidance on complex ER matters, ensuring fair, compliant and commercially sound outcomes.
- Stay ahead of developments in employment legislation, translating changes into meaningful updates for leaders.
- Lead TUPE transfers in and out of the organisation, ensuring compliant and seamless transitions.
- Manage HR Advisors to ensure consistent, timely, and high‑quality case management
- Manage HR Administrators to ensure full compliance with policies and processes, driving consistent and high‑quality operational delivery.
Talent Management & Development
- Oversee the full recruitment lifecycle, ensuring a robust and engaging candidate experience.
- Identify and nurture high‑potential talent, working closely with L&D colleagues to drive development and succession planning.
- Design and deliver engaging HR workshops to build leadership capability and ensure compliance.
- Lead, coach, and develop the HR team, driving continuous improvement and maximising performance.
Training & Compliance
- Ensure managers receive high-quality coaching and training on HR policies and processes.
- Maintain organisational compliance through effective policy implementation, audits, and continuous improvement.
- Deliver targeted training programmes to build confidence and capability across the management population.
Stakeholder & Union Relationship Management
- Develop positive, collaborative relationships with Trade Union representatives.
- Role model and promote the company's Vision, Mission, and Values.
- Undertake additional duties aligned with the role's seniority and responsibilities.
Essential Requirements
- HR Expertise & Analytics – Broad, demonstrable HR experience including talent, performance, and organisational development. Strong capability in HR analytics, with the ability to interpret data, build insight-driven reports, and use predictive modelling to inform decisions.
- Employment Law & Compliance – Deep understanding of UK employment law, TUPE, and complex ER risk management. Proven experience leading Employment Tribunals and designing compliant HR policies.
- Industry Knowledge & Commercial Insight – Strong understanding of the aviation/ground handling sector, including operational demands, safety considerations, and workforce dynamics. Commercially astute with an ability to balance people and business priorities.
- Leadership & Team Development – Successful track record of leading HR teams, building relationships at all levels, driving change, and cultivating high performance.
